This New Spot In Canyon Will Make Laundry Day a Breeze

It's exciting to see new businesses open up in the area.  Right now, Canyon is growing.  The population is growing, the city is growing outward, WTAMU is expanding each year, and it's a great, thriving city.

That's why when you hear about new businesses moving into the city, it's a plus. In the last few years, Whataburger, HTea0, Wingstop, and The Lumberyard have opened in Canyon. Pondeseta moved their brewery warehouse and revamped the Santa Fe Depot into a beautiful restaurant. Soon, Big Tex Burritos will be opening up on Highway 60.

Why Canyon Needs Another Laundromat

With all this growth, certain businesses are needed.  One of those businesses is a laundromat. Not all homes or apartments have washers and dryers, and some students on campus don't want to fight their dorm mates for the washer facilities, so they take their clothes to the laundromat.

A quick Google search turns up two laundromats in Canyon, and that is not enough for the growing population. Luckily, that is about to change.

What to Expect at Tornado Laundromat

We spoke with the owner, John Baiada, and asked him what Canyon residents can expect from the new Tornado Laundromat.

He said customers can expect a clean, comfortable space. The laundromat will have high-efficiency washers and dryers. They offer free Wi-Fi so you can stay connected and entertained. If you don't want to sit and do your laundry, they will offer same-day wash and fold service.

Our goal has always been to make laundry day faster, easier, and a little more enjoyable for busy families, students, and local businesses.

New Laundry Technology in Canyon

This Tornado Laundromat will offer a new technology called the Sudsy soap injection system. This allows the user to put their clothes in the washer, select the right cycle on the touchscreen, and hit start. This machine does the rest, and the user doesn't have to worry about measuring out detergent.

Student-Friendly Features and Discounts

This location is also designed to fit the needs of students and busy Canyon residents. The store will offer plenty of machines that will help cut down on the wait time. The new countertop seating will offer built-in charging ports, because there is nothing worse than your phone, tablet, or computer running out of power, leaving you sitting, watching the clock.

This will be a great place to get your laundry done while doing homework, working, or watching videos, movies, or listening to music on your electronics.

They will offer easy payment options with their loyalty card. Plus, they will offer student discounts and reduced rates on their wash and fold services.  Students will need to present a valid college ID to get the discounts.

When is Tornado Laundromat Opening in Canyon?

The anticipated opening date of Tornado Laundromat in Canyon will be in October.  They will be located at 501 23rd Street in Buffs Legacy Square, joining Wingstop, Tea2Go, among other businesses.
