The suspect in question was described as a black male wearing all-black clothing.  After leaving the store he fled from the store going east on foot.

The Amarillo Police Department is asking for any information on the robbery.  If you have any information or you may know the suspect you can call the Amarillo Police Department or you can call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.  You can also leave an anonymous tip online at amapolice.org.

Don't get me wrong, Dollar General has money in the register, but it's probably not as much money as someplace else.  This particular Dollar Gener is located near Amarillo Blvd. on Western Street just north of 6th street. It shares a storefront with the American Council of the Blind Thrift store.  This area is usually busy.   If the suspect fled east, then he disappeared into the neighborhood behind the store.

It's possible this person lived in the area and realized it was an easy target.  Either way, it happened and it occurred.  Once again, we are left asking, when did the crime get so out of control in Amarillo?
