This Sunday’s Oscars will be the 87th annual Academy Awards. In nearly a century of honoring Hollywood’s best, the Academy has sometimes has made some bold choices, and some dumb choices. This gallery has them all; the complete history of nine decades of Best Picture winners in pictures. Some are classics, still watched to this day. A few are almost totally forgotten to history. (Cavalcade, anyone?) But they all won. Even Crash, somehow.
After a rather entertaining open to the 2013 Oscars, host Seth MacFarlane clearly didn’t want it to end with just the hurried list of sponsors and the usual “let’s get to your local news as quickly as possible even though we just sucked 4 hours of your life away” attitude of the closing.
How do we know that? Because he made sure there was a really awesome closing song.

Michelle Obama and Jack Nicholson, who, aside from their awesomeness couldn't be more different, announced the winner for Best Picture at the 2013 Oscars -- and it was none other than 'Argo.'
And though he could have, Ben Affleck didn't rub anyone's nose in it. He's a much better person than we are.
Because it’s always fun to award the Oscar for Best Achievement in Directing to a director for whom English is a second language -- will we ever forget ‘Life Is Beautiful’ and Roberto Benigni? -- the Academy chose Ang Lee. Although Michael Haneke for ‘Amour’ was probably a close second.
Jennifer Lawrence didn't beat Meryl this time ... but only because Streep wasn't nominated for anything at the 2013 Oscars. Instead, J-Law beat Jessica Chastain, Quvenzhané Wallis, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva to win Best Actress.
And she fell down.
As even our pet rocks predicted, Anne Hathaway won the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Fantine in ‘Les Miserables.’
It’s okay when they give Dame Judi Dench an Oscar for barely appearing in a film -- look up ‘Shakespeare In Love’ -- but she’s a Dame. We aren't sure it's cool if the actress hasn't been recognized by the Queen.
For her role, Anne H
Eddie Murphy was supposed to host the upcoming Academy Awards on February 26th, and then backed out. So the producers decided to go on a classic route and hired Billy Crystal to host again. Enjoy this trailer for the upcoming awards show. It stars Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox on a mission to find "The Host". Robin Williams and Vinnie Jones are also featured in the trailer.
I know the Academy Award is a very prestigious award in the film industry. Millions of people flock to their TVs each year to see what the stars are wearing to the event and to see which of their favorite actors and actresses take home Oscar. However, most of the time, it is the artsy films and the actors in those films that take home the gold. In a way that is a big YAWN for me.
Since when did the Oscars become the Superbowl? I don't watch the Oscars for the commercials. I watch the Superbowl for the commercials. So I don't understand why advertisers will spend a obscene amount of money to run an ad during the Oscars. People are just gonna fast foward through it any way.
