Texas has one of the youngest populations in the United States, with an average age of 36.

We live in the Texas Panhandle. That is our claim to fame. Whether you know it or not Texas is not the only state to have a Panhandle. I know everything is bigger and better in Texas. So by that statement, of course the Texas Panhandle should be all that matters.

In the salad days of Saturday Night Live, the late Gilda Radner, appearing as hard-of hearing Emily Litella, wondered why people wanted to make Puerto Rico a steak. She was corrected by stern anchor, Jane Curtin, that people wanted to make Puerto Rico a "state."

A friend of mine turned me on to the Deadliest Catch the other night. We were channel surfing and she landed on the Discovery Channel and was telling me I needed to watch at least one episode. I couldn't believe that after 10 minutes I was drawn in 'hook, line & sinker.' The episodes I saw were centered around snow crab-fishing off of Alaska.
