Another fun season has started at Hodgetown. A lot of families head to the park to make those memories. Oh, and they hope to see some great baseball. They hope to someday get to say while watching a Major League game that they saw that player at Hodegtown.

We all remember the mascot I am talking about. This has to go down as the worst idea ever for a mascot. Or was it really the best?

I have worked for several of our local sports teams over the years. I hung out at the ticket booth and was on the mic in between innings for the Amarillo Sox. I ran all over the Amarillo Civic Center for many years as well for the Amarillo Bulls. I even spent some time doing the same thing for the Amarillo Venom.

OK....I will say I have been able to do a lot living here in Amarillo. Oh, I have a bucket list. I could be called up. Oh, take the mound. Why not? I love baseball! I love the stuff that Amarillo has let me do.

I woke up Friday morning to this great news. Mark your calendars for July 17th! I, though, have a backstory to this.

The excitement in Downtown Amarillo is great. I love watching the families walk to Hodgetown. These families are making the memories I made with my child.

I am one of those that loves pictures. I took MANY pictures of my daughter growing up. As most parents I know do.

What did you want to be when you grew up? We get asked that a lot as a child. We had an answer. Did anyone get to live that dream?

The Amarillo Sox started off their 2014 Season with a big win over Winnipeg on Thursday Night, but Friday and Saturday it was a different story.
