Canyon really knows how to put on an event. They are a small town with a great attitude for getting things done. They have one of the biggest celebrations for the 4th of July. Heck everyone from Amarillo travels down to Canyon because we sure can't put on as great of a show.
After a year of everything shutting down and cancelling this is the year that things are happening again. Last years Canyon Chamber of Commerce Chow Down had to cancel. This year not so much.
We are about halfway through the year 2021 and the weather has been something else. We had those crazy winter storms all over Texas back in February. We had triple digit heat way before we saw summer on the calendar.
We are approaching the birth of our nation. The great day that we want to go out and celebrate America. Of course I am talking about the Fourth of July. Here we are a few days away and the celebrations are happening this year.
It's turning out that a list of what actually is still happening event wise in 2020 should be the way to go. Most everything is being postponed. I get it. Too much uncertainty and with all the months and months of planning it is something you need to get ahead of.
If you didn't get your fill of delicious BBQ at the Chamber BBQ, you have another opportunity to chow down and have a blast. All you have to to is mark your calendar and get ready to head on down to Canyon for the festivities.
The 4th of July is a fun holiday. It's a day to get together with family and friends to celebrate our country's independence. It's also the perfect day for fireworks. Last year Canyon went bigger and better with their 4th of July celebration and this year they are continuing the tradition. This year mark your calenders and join us at Kimbrough Memorial Station for fireworks and the Gin Blossom
