We want it. We deserve it. We need it. I am talking about free food on that important day that you were born. It used to be that every place did something special for your big day. That is not the case anymore.

I am always a fan of free food. I even go out of my way to sign up for most places rewards programs so I can get even more of it. I may buy food from Jimmy Johns just in hopes of finding an extra reward for a free pickle. That just makes my day.

We all know that our first responder's have gone through a lot this past year. Whatever we can do to thank them is probably not enough. They have had to go to work and take care of us when all that was going on in 2020.

In a similar move Amarillo Independent School District is doing the same thing. They kicked off the program at Amarillo Schools yesterday. I just love it. I sure wish this was something that was offered when my daughter was in school. It would have been a huge blessing.

So the good news came out recently that I think everyone in Canyon can agree is great. Free food. Yes, students in Canyon Independent School District can now eat for free. I am talking about breakfast and lunch.

I’m a kid at heart, a really big kid. Unfortunately, “Kids Eat Free” doesn’t apply to me. Although I have no kids, I have a ton of nieces and nephews and like to take them out to eat, considering I don’t cook. Restaurants that offer these weekly events will always receive my praise...

You know how many times you hear that there is no such thing as a free meal? Well that is no longer true! Chick Fil a on Georgia Street proves that is wrong!
