Have you played the game of driving around Amarillo and reminiscing about what used to be? If you have lived here any amount of time this becomes a fun game. Sometimes you have vivid memories about things.

I decided to see just how close we could get by going to a few places in town.

If you grew up in Amarillo you get it. Things change. You may not like it. You miss some of the places that are now gone.

I remember driving by one day and noticing the Hastings Distribution Center was gone. I had heard about this place that Amarillo Independent School District was putting up. I didn't know much about it.

Did it act like a Transformer and turn into something different than a store?

I remember my very first Christmas as a single mom. Faith was 3 years old. I was quite nervous about how I was going to make this all work. It's a lot of work for any family to make sure all the presents are wrapped. Cookies and milk are set out for Santa. If you are extra on the ball you will leave carrots for the reindeer too.

We have heard this time and time again about the supply chain shortage. There are things that are harder to come by because of this issue. There was a time when we couldn't find toilet paper.

There are a lot of things we still do on Thanksgiving Day. We get up and we either start preparing a big feast or we make some side dishes to bring to a family members house. Maybe we get up knowing we are going to head to The Big Texan for their buffet.

So first of all kudos to the Atlanta Braves for winning the World Series. That means that Tucker Davidson, who graduated from Tascosa High School, gets a ring. Oh and by the way Tucker was not even born the last time the Braves won the World Series back in 1995.

If you have lived in Amarillo for a long time this post will bring back memories. I was doing what I do a lot and scrolling through Facebook. One post stopped me in my tracks.

The guy who is opening it said in a recent news story that he worked at Hastings Entertainment Superstore and wants to bring back the same vibe.
