Zack Snyder makes superhero movies, but his characters don’t act very heroic. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice features all the other trappings of the superhero genre: Capes, gadgets, outlandish muscles, punching stuff. But the two stars aren’t noble or chivalrous; they’re violent, aggressive, and angry — mostly at each other instead of the bad guys. In Snyder’s formulation, protecting the world from evil isn’t a gift or a calling; it’s a burden. And that feeling is reflected in the movie itself, a burdensome 150- minute slog about two men fighting over who is in the right when both are very clearly in the wrong.
When director Zack Snyder unveiled our first look at Ben Affleck all suited up as Batman (with his trusty Batmobile by his side) in his upcoming turn in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' the photo in question sent the internet into a whirl of excitement. Unfortunately, the same can't really be said of Henry Cavill's reveal, primarily because it's not even of him as Superman, but rather his journalistic alter-ego, Clark Kent.
Earlier today, 'Man of Steel' director Zack Snyder and star Amy Adams sat down with Kevin Smith at a special fan event for the upcoming Blu-ray release, with Henry Cavill telecasting in from London -- but the making of that film wasn't all they discussed. Snyder dropped a few hints about his sequel, working under the tentative title 'Batman vs. Superman,' which, obviously features the caped crusad
Last week, the Internet was set abuzz with the news that Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in the upcoming 'Man of Steel' sequel. The movie will see Affleck's Bruce Wayne face off against Henry Cavill's Superman. While the Batman casting was a controversial decision, there is no argument that both Affleck and Cavill are seriously smoldering. Who do you think is more swoon-worthy?
While struggling to discover his true identity and purpose, Clark Kent must become the hero known as “Superman” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
Two new posters for next month's 'Man of Steel' have crashed on earth (not including the one we previously revealed the other day of Jor-El), showing us the film's hero and villain in all their glowering glory. Of course, we're talking about Superman (Henry Cavill) and General Zod (Michael Shannon).
Although the recent glut of posters for 'Man of Steel' have been less than satisfying, the same can't be said for each and every trailer and TV spot, which make the new Superman movie look like the blockbuster to beat this summer. The newest spot doesn't change the pattern -- this movie looks fantastic.
How many 'Man of Steel' posters have arrived in the past week? Three? Four? Fifteen? Well, it's another day, so here's another poster for the upcoming superhero blockbuster! Check it out below.
The new 'Man of Steel' poster has dropped faster than a speeding bullet -- eh, you get the idea -- to keep our adrenaline going for the June theatrical debut and frankly...we're thrilled! Seriously, we've seen countless one-sheets for 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' 'Pacific Rim' and the like, so it's about time we saw more from Zack Snyder's Superman reboot.
