The Dome in Borger will be transforming into a winter wonderland for the holidays. It's time to bust out the ice skates.

I grew up in Chicago and one of my best memories is the city flooding the nearby city baseball field. It would give us kids an ice skating rink. So I remember my mom taking my sister and me to the Goodwill to find some ice skates.

I grew up in an area where knowing how to ice skate was a thing. The local park would flood a baseball field where we could ice skate. Then I moved to Amarillo. I didn't know many people who could ice skate.

What's a great way to cool off and try a new sport at the same time? How about ice skating?

This is by far some of the best things I have found out all year.

Skate on the same ice as the Amarillo Bulls! Take the family to the Amarillo Civic Center for open skate through January.

Join the Amarillo Bulls and the Amarillo Figure Skate for a fun night of Christmas and ice skating.

How would you like to learn how to ice skate?  Amarillo doesn't seem like one of those places where you would be able to learn how to ice skate, but every winter, we have an ice rink at the Amarillo Civic Center.  Not only do the Bulls play on that ice, but Amarillo Ice Skating has use of the rink as well and now you can learn how to ice skate.
