sequels

Every single human being with access to a movie theater saw Jurassic World this summer, making it the highest grossing film of all time not directed by James Cameron (aka, the third highest grossing film of all time). A sequel was inevitable. But how about a trilogy? Because director Colin Trevorrow says that he always had a three-movie arc in mind. Now, $1.6 billion later, he’s able to start talking about it like a real thing that will actually happen and not some crazy plan.

I don't know about you but I love movies.  Some movies are really good and some movies are really bad.  Then you have those movies where you want to know what happens.  You want to know where the story goes.  However, a sequel was never made.  We just found out recently that they are doing a sequel to Beetlejuice.  This made my day and made me think about all the movies that need sequels.  Here's

Rumors of a Space Jam sequel are gathering steam, following news that LeBron James has inked a significant entertainment partnership with Warner Bros.

In a summer filled with extremely expensive films falling on their faces, the reasonably budgeted magician thriller 'Now You See Me' has proven itself to be one of the biggest successes of the year. And you know what this means, right? A sequel is already being planned, of course. If we're lucky, they'll have the nerve to call it 'Now You Don't' or 'Now You See Me Again' or 'Look Who's Seeing Me N

I was channel surfing last night and landed on Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie 'Predator.' It wasn't one of my favorite AH-Nold movies, but all-in-all, it was a decent flick. But that got me thinking about some movies that I thought were great and then how Hollywood had to go 'back to the well' and start cranking out sequels. Not all sequels are bad, but as the numbers got bigger, the plots got smal

When 'The Adventures of Tintin' was released last December it was supposedly the start of a trilogy that Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg were going to produce together and trade off directing duties. The film didn't perform strongly in America (though that was expected), but international numbers didn't made a sequel look like a done deal. Now Jackson has weighed in on the follow up, and it's g

(Insert Moan Here) Really?  I didn't even know that there was a discussion about a sequel to Top Gun.  Seriously?  Can you really go back and make a sequel to one of the best movies ever?  Can you?  I'm sure it will revolve around some Navy Pilot punks that get into Top Gun and have to deal with Maverick as an instructor.  You know the same basic principle as the original Top Gun but with Tom Crui

A new video has hit the internet featuring Ferris Bueller.  The teaser video ends with 2.5.12 which is the date of the Superbowl.  Did Ferris sell out for a commercial or is it going to be a teaser for a sequel for Ferris Bueller's Day Off?

One of my favorite movies from the 80's is Beetlejuice.  Michael Keaton was awesome playing this crazy dead character that caused all sorts of trouble in the world of the dead.  Of course, who could forget the crazy dance he caused at the dining table to Day O (the Banana Boat Song), or trying to take Winona Ryder as a bride.  Plus, I think this movie was the skinniest Alec Baldwin had ever been.

I love a good movie, what's even better is when that movie is so good they make a sequel.  Most of the time sequels don't live up to the original but in some cases like Toy Story 3 they are even better than the original.  2011 seems to be the year of the sequels.
