Robert Forster stands out among the 217 names confirmed for Showtime’s 2017 Twin Peaks revival, as both a new cast member, and potentially established role. Most reports have Forster taking over Michael Ontkean’s role as Twin Peaks sheriff Harry S. Truman, though the actor himself finally weighs in.

Get ready for the opposite problem, as the official 2017 Twin Peaks cast lists off a whopping 217 members, previously unannounced, new and returning alike.

Showtime shocked us all with the announcement that ‘Twin Peaks’ would return as a series in 2016 under creator David Lynch, though predictably few details were available just yet. Now, the most burning question about the darkly surreal drama’s return has been answered, confirming Kyle MacLachlan’s reprisal of Dale Cooper.

A 'Twin Peaks' revival has been something of a long-running joke since the show's 1991 ABC cancellation, with rumors emerging of a return every so often for the last 25 years, but you may want to put down that damn good coffee. Showtime has officially confirmed that David Lynch will return us to 'Twin Peaks' in 2016 for new episodes, picking up where the cult series last left off in the early '90s.

'Homeland' will undergo something of a metamorphosis in its fourth season, shifting from the story of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) to a more generalized tale of an intelligence officer in a foreign country. We've seen one trailer to date, but the newest look at 'Homeland' season 4 gives off a much better look at the ensemble, promising a two-hour premiere to remember.

Showtime has been a bit light on comedy since production on Philip Seymour Hoffman's 'Happy-ish' ceased for obvious reasons, but the network has some major names in mind for its latest effort. 'Almost Famous' visionary Cameron Crowe will make his TV debut with the J.J. Abrams-produced music comedy 'Roadies,' now officially picked up for a network pilot.

Earlier this week Showtime was generous enough to show us the entire pilot for forthcoming "psychosexual" monster mash 'Penny Dreadful,' but why stop there? In addition to watching the premiere, get a brand new look at the sexy, supernatural evil hiding in the 19th century, with another fresh trailer for Showtime's 'Penny Dreadful'!

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, given that Showtime's most quietly-continuing 'Episodes' had already been granted an additional season, but good news all the same: Emmy Rossum-William H. Macy family drama 'Shameless' will officially return for a fifth season in 2015, as the Don Cheadle- and Kristen Bell-starring 'House of Lies' will return for its fourth.

Though only a few months removed from the series finale and intensely divisive final season, 'Dexter' will have us back on the table before long. Netflix has announced that the first four seasons will be available to stream on the site beginning this upcoming Halloween Thursday, with the final four seasons to follow shortly thereafter in 2014.
