You can not even begin to imagine the amount of stuff that Amarillo leaves for us to find on its streets. It's crazy the treasures we find. Now I say treasures because some of the stuff is actually cool.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I know it doesn't seem like something fun to celebrate. It's not. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It is important for women to keep an eye on the signs.
I just can't believe those numbers. I started walking helping my friend train for her 3 Day for the Cure Walk, for Susan G Komen earlier this year. We trained for six months. We walked a lot around Amarillo.
For about five or six months of the year you can find me and one of my friends doing a lot of walking around Amarillo. You will know it is us because we are wearing bright pink.
Let me tell you that I am not one to get up early on a Saturday or Sunday. I get up every weekday at 4 am. So let's just say it takes something special to get me up early on a weekend.
I can't imagine there is anyone reading this that has not known someone who has fought against breast cancer. It's sad to know how many lives have been affected by this disease.
