Thor: Ragnarok is going to delve a bit into Greg Paak’s Planet Hulk storyline before getting back into the whole end of the world thing.

It’s been well-known for quite a while that Natalie Portman isn’t appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, which takes place largely on Asgard and throughout its other spacey realms, with very few scenes set on Earth. If you were hoping that Jane Foster might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime soon, however, then you might want to take this news whilst sitting down.

In the Norse mythological tradition, the term Ragnarök refers to a great series of cataclysmic events through which the slate of Earth may be struck completely, wiped clean, and started anew. It’s like a slightly more optimistic version of the apocalypse, wherein two survivors will begin again in a purer, kinder world. So when Marvel revealed that the third installment in Thor’s solo series of films would be titled Thor: Ragnarok, everyone knew what was up. This is not Thor: Day at the Beach or Thor: Light Picnic. In the parlance of “the streets,” it’s going down.

Part of the fun of watching a Marvel movie is looking out for all those Easter eggs strewn throughout, and you can be sure 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has a handful, as well. OK I'll be honest, I have seen bits and pieces of the first Thor movie.  I watched The Avengers, but haven't seen the second Thor movie.  Don't get me wrong, Chris Hemsworth is a great actor and easy on the eyes, but since my son isn't a huge Thor fan we just haven't watched the movies.  However, I do find that it is fun to learn about things like Thor's hammer.  Here's the answer to the question,

There was no question of whether or not 'Thor: The Dark World' was going to open at number one this weekend. Of course it was. The big question was whether it would get a post-'Avengers' bump, or if it would do similar business to its 2011 predecessor. Question answered: it got a bump and a pretty good one, too.

For the most part, comic book movies have stuck to summer release dates of late, so it will be interesting to see how 'Thor: The Dark World' fares this November. But of all the superheroes, Thor seems the most autumnal (perhaps it's the thunder). But we've now got the film's first TV spot, as the film opens in a little over two months.
