Wellington Square

We get new restaurants and we lose them. That is how they go. Sometimes they are expected. Really they are. Some just kind of close unexpectedly. Amarillo can be a tough place to open. I mean you need to get the word out about your new place. If you don't that is the end of you.

I drive by this empty building every single day. I miss it being a place that I could stop for a great meal. I'm talking about the old Gardski's location.

I noticed this over the weekend and I will have to say it got me feeling all sorts of ways. This location has been a mainstay in Amarillo for years. It most recently was Leal’s before they closed their doors earlier during the pandemic.

About a month ago I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw Victor Leal's post that I didn't want to see. Leal's not having any plans to open back up any time soon.
