Today is Friday the 13th!  Not only that, it is also The Great Turkey Drop.  Today is the day we collect turkeys for the High Plains Food Bank.  Here the the top 5 reasons you should donate a turkey today.

#1.  You are making sure a family will not go without a turkey on Thanksgiving Day.  Can you imagine not having enough money for food?  Then a holiday rolls around and you keep seeing pictures of Thanksgiving meals and you keep hearing people talk about their Thanksgiving Day spread.  Let's make sure everyone who needs a turkey will have one on Thanksgiving.

#2.  It will keep Jason Voorhees at bay.  Hey it is Friday the 13th, they say Jason is dead, but really, is he really dead.  You don't want to find out.  So make sure you donate a turkey just to keep him from knocking at your door and doing that slow walk towards you.  Remember no matter how fast you run, and how slow he walks, he'll always catch up.  Donate a turkey.

#3.  It's a great way to start the weekend.  "So how what did you do this weekend, said Fred?" "Oh I donated a turkey and made sure someone in need has a great weekend," you said.  "Oh, said Fred, I just watched football, You're awesome!"  Wouldn't that be a great conversation.

#4.  The High Plains Food Bank served 29 counties in the area and you can help out this organization.  By donating a turkey you are helping to alleviate hunger here in the Texas Panhandle.

#5.  It's a great way to teach your kids a lesson about giving.  Bring your kids with you when you come out to the United on Soncy today.  Tell them what you are doing and why you are doing it and let them be a part of the process of picking out a turkey or picking out a bag of food to donate.  It's a great way to instill the values of giving in them.
