The 2015 Met Gala's theme was "China: Through the Looking Glass," and though it invited the potential for some real cultural sensitivity minefields, the stars who graced the event — including Claire Danes, Selena Gomez and John Boyega — kept it classy.

Living legend Anna Wintour was one of the first guests to arrive -- which is patently unfair, because who can ever follow the reigning queen of Vogue? -- decked out in a red-orange gown adorned with a floral pattern, her hair framing her face with that signature bob cut, because the more things change the more they stay the same.

The co-chair of the 2015 Met Gala, Jennifer Lawrence, arrived on the carpet in Dior and no one was surprised. Meanwhile, Rihanna showed up and straight up killed it on the carpet in every which way, just like she does every year. Her hair was channeling Aber from Clueless in the greatest way possible, and the dress by Chinese designer Guo Pei...we were not worthy.

As we await the ensembles from tonight's 2016 Met Gala, which has the theme “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," click through the gallery above to relive last year's stunning looks.
