A Holiday Weekend Means a Low Blood Supply – Things to Do Before You Celebrate: Give the Gift of Life

As we embark on another 3-day holiday weekend.  I encourage you to do something great before you celebrate your weekend off.  Give the Gift of Life.  Give blood today.

As we enter the Memorial weekend holiday the Coffee Memorial Blood Center needs your help in making sure we have an adequate blood supply in Amarillo.

Accidents seem to spike on a holiday weekend and that means the need for blood spikes as well.

The center is looking for all blood types going into this holiday weekend,  especially types O-, which is the universal blood type can be given to anyone in a crisis.  They are also in need of type O+ and A-.

For each person that donates they will receive a Bike Month t-shirt and will be entered into a drawing for one of two Schwinn Cruiser Bikes (valued at $500 each).

Plus, eligible donors who present will pick a prize envelope containing an additional reward for saving a life!  Some of the mystery prizes are a $10 gift card to Pak A Sak, a $25 gift card to Texas Roadhouse, $10 gift card to United Supermarkets, a $20 gift card to Beef O’Bradys or a $15 gift card to Texas Firehouse and more!

If you wish to donate the Gift of Life stop by the Coffee Memorial Blood Center at 7500 Wallace Blvd.  They are open today until 4:30pm and Saturday,  from 8am-12pm. Closed on Sunday.
