The Texas Department of Transportation has been working on an interchange project for the last few months.  However, starting next week, it might cause some problems for those who travel at night.

The interchange at I-27/I-40 will be shutdown overnight starting on Monday and Tuesday, July 25th-26th.

By shutting the interchange down at night it will give the contractor more space and leeway to safely place beams for the new interchange.

The lanes that will be closed include the east and westbound I-40 ramps starting at 7PM.

The traffic needing access to I-27 from I-40 will be detoured north into downtown.

The southbound I-27 frontage road will also be closed from Taylor St to 26th Ave.

These areas will be closed 7PM-7AM on Monday and Tuesday.

The ramps will remain open during the day.

As always, work will take place weather permitting.
