Adopted Saint Bernard Saves Family From Burglary

Animals are awesome creatures and it is sad to know that over four million cats and dogs are euthanized each year because they don't get adopted and the shelters cannot handle the amount of discarded animals. This is why pet adoption from a shelter is so important. You are saving a life and getting a new best friend. Plus, you just never know how great your pet will be for you. Just ask the Littler family in Ohio, their newly adopted Saint Bernard saved their family from a burglary.

According to AzCentral:

Rubert "Lee" Littler says he was taking Hercules outside Wednesday night when the 135-pound dog started growling, then charged after a man running out of their basement. The dog bit into the man's ankle as he climbed a fence and got away. Police say the home's phone and cable lines had been cut.

This family had just adopted Hercules earlier in the day, and he already considered himself part of the family and he was going to protect that family.
