Grammy collaborations don't always work, but when they do, they can be amazing. That was the case for the 2013 Grammys' powerful tribute to late reggae star Bob Marley, which featured Bruno Mars, Sting and Rihanna joined by two of Marley's sons.

The trio was tasked with honoring Marley's "timeless island rhythms," as host LL Cool J explained, and they sure delivered. Mars kicked off the tribute with his own song, 'Locked Out of the Heaven.' Since the song has received numerous comparisons to early hits by the Police, it was only fitting that Police frontman and 16-time Grammy winner Sting came out to join Mars for the performance.

Taylor Swift, Adele, Keith Urban, Neil Patrick Harris and more were all spotted by the cameras singing along as Sting and Mars sang the latter's most recent chart-topper, then segued into 'Walking on the Moon,' a Police track greatly influenced by reggae.

The best was still to come, though, as Rihanna joined the party to sing Marley's classic hit 'Could You Be Loved' with two of the reggae legend's sons, Ziggy and Damian. The crowd stood and clapped along during the sing-along. "Thank you Bob Marley!" Mars shouted at the conclusion of a performance likely to have everyone talking tomorrow.
