As most of us were looking forward to this years Electric Light Parade we received the sad news early Friday that it was being cancelled due to weather. Center City Of Amarillo has rescheduled the lighting of the City Of Amarillo Christmas Tree for this Wednesday.

It's always sad when a tradition has to be canceled, but it's better to keep the public safe and warm.  As promised, the annual lighting of the City Christmas Tree has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 7th.

All the Christmas festivities kick-off at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts with the arrival of Santa from 4-6pm. They will have Christmas cookies and music as Santa will take pictures with the kids and listen to their Christmas wishes. Make sure to bring your own camera.

Join the Mayor and the City Council as they light up the Christmas tree at 5:45. This is a free event to the public so we would love to see you there!
