Jessica Biel's gold dress, a textured Kaufman Franco gown, set Twitter talking on Sunday (February 26) as she accompanied Justin Timberlake on the 2017 Oscars red carpet.

Dressing like an actual Oscar statue is a gutsy move — Timberlake joked to ET on the carpet, "I have my own gold statuette already" — the dress was...divisive. Some found the outfit too over the top, because we live in a post-Fashion Police era where any sort of fun on an awards show red carpet is regarded as a fail by those who've been conditioned to dislike over-the-top sartorial moments. OTHERS (ahem) find it regal and all-around gorgeous.

You can't please everybody, but you can cover yourself in head-to-toe gold.

Timberlake is nominated for an Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song) Academy Award for his "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from the Trolls soundtrack, and he's set to perform the song tonight as well.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8:30 PM EST. The 2017 Academy Award nominees were announced on January 24.
