Lady Gaga got candid and personal about why she decided to lift "the veil" for her new documentary.

On Thursday (September 21), the "Poker Face" singer posted a message to her fans on Twitter about her new Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, which is now available to watch on the streaming service.

In her missive on Twitter, Gaga addressed, in part, the idea that being a star is not all it's cracked up to be:

Although surreal, happy and also hard, I'm most touched that the veil behind the aura of my fame reveals that fame is not all it's cracked up to be. It is lonely, it is isolating, and it is very psychologically challenging because fame changes the way you've viewed by people."

The doc follows the pop star through the ups and downs of life, particularly the time frame when she recorded her most recent album, Joanne. It chronicles heavy matters like how she deals with chronic pain and her breakup with fiancé Taylor Kinney, while also touching on other daily moments like going to Walmart and getting a new tattoo.

However, Gaga: Five Foot Two may also be the last we hear from the superstar for some time, since Gaga recently announced that she plans to take a break from music,. For now, Little Monsters, enjoy this unfiltered peek inside Mother Monster's extraordinary life.
