Waking up Wednesday morning to the thunder and good ole rain was a good way to start today. Well, for most of us it was a good thing. But, it wasn't all good. There were others that had power outages thanks to the morning storm.

A downed substation left more than 3,000 Amarillo customers without power for a short time just after 9:00 Wednesday morning. Crews were able to connect those customers to another source to fully restore power just before 10:00.

Downed power poles in the North East panhandle had the four small towns of Darrouzett, Follett, Higgins and Lipscomb without power. Crews worked to repair more than a dozen power poles that had been damaged from the storm. All power to these communities should all be restored.
