Summer Art Camps at the Amarillo Museum of Art
Do you have a little Picasso in your home? A Monet? Well if you do then sign them up for Summer art camps. Even if you don’t you just might pique their interest and you might find that you have an amazing artist on your hands.
The Amarillo Museum of Art has several camps this summer for kids of all ages.
Ages 4 & 5
Art Adventure – June 27 – 1:30-2:30pm or July 25th-28th, 10-11am
Your kids will be introduce to art and the great artists. They will learn art techniques and the different forms.
Several camps are available for this age group. These camps are Tuesday – Friday from 9am-12n.
Cost: $100 per week.
Water Color Madness/Wear Your Art Out – June 6th-9th
Learn the world of water color including the fun techniques. This camp is where art meets fashion.
Adventures with Abstraction/Mixed Media Mini Masters – June 20th-23rd
Create pieces with abstract art. Learn how to use different art mediums.
Space Cadets/Foodie Fun – July 11-14
Learn different varieties of media including collage and watercolor. Plus create artwork that looks like food.
Architecture Artists/Amazing Acrylic – July 18-21
Projects include developing a soaring cityscape, fashioning a clay slab house, and designing a sculpture garden! Then get ready to paint! Explore the medium of acrylic paint as you create bold, amazing artwork.
The camps for this age group run Tuesday – Friday from 1:30p – 3:30p
Cost: $70 per week
Drawing – June 20th-23rd
Learn a variety of drawing techniques
Acrylic Painting – June 27th-30th
Learn and explore the techniques of acrylic painting
Wheel Thrown Pottery – July 25-28
Learn how to shape clay on a wheels.
