A new policy has been passed by the Texas Legislation that will drop the second inspection sticker from your car windshield.

Up until now we have been required to get a registration and a safety inspection sticker but, due to a rash of 'fake' stickers popping up, the Texas DMV is trying to battle the bootlegs.

The good news is that this shouldn't cause any more money, but here are some things you need to know:

  • The policy will require only one sticker which drivers will get at registration after the vehicle inspection
  • Drivers will have to get their cars inspected at 90 days before registering them
  • The new policy will take effect in March 2015
  • Could save the state up to 2-million dollars
