It seems appropriate that the new international trailer for The Fate of the Furious is rather…international, taking the crew from New York to Cuba to the arctic (it’s like Fury Road but with, like, ice) for the eighth (!) installment of the franchise. The next chapter of the awesomely soapy action series looks like a pretty juicy one, as Vin Diesel’s Dom straight-up abandons his family for Charlize Theron (who wouldn’t) and her questionable hairstyle.

It’s hard to imagine how our favorite ride-or-die crew will ever fully recover from such a major betrayal — especially when the trailer ends with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) telling Dom there’s no way he would shoot her, but maybe he would…?

In addition to Theron’s mysterious new character (named Cipher), The Fate of the Furious introduces Helen Mirren as the mother of the Shaw brothers, played by returning stars Jason Statham and Luke Evans — who team up with Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and the rest of the gang to take Dom down. Here’s the official synopsis:

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.

The Fate of the Furious was directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton), and also stars Kurt Russell, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kristofer Hivju and Scott Eastwood. The film hits theaters on April 14.
