2010 - Paralyzed R&B legend TEDDY PENDERGRASS died of respiratory failure at 59. He was a member of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, which scored a hit with "If You Don't Know Me By Now", and he was also a big solo artist in the '70s and '80s.
