Years after 'The Tonight Show' debacle between Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien has fallen off our radars, recent rumblings have all-but-confirmed that 'Late Night' host and 'SNL' alum Jimmy Fallon will take the 'Tonight Show' mantle from Leno in 2014. Now, recent reports have surfaced that Fallon will not only replace Jay Leno next year, but that 'The Tonight Show' will return to its original home in New York City as well! Find out if the rumors are true inside!

'The Tonight Show' began its run in 1954 with a New York-set hour hosted by Steve Allen, and sixty years later may finally return to (and with) its Roots. A new report from the New York Times has emerged claiming that not only will 'Late Night' host Jimmy Fallon take over for Jay Leno as the host of 'The Tonight Show' "by the fall of 2014 at the latest," but that the long-running late night series would return to New York as well.

Executives who first released the story remain uncertain of the exact timetable for Leno's exit and Fallon's ascension, but NBC itself has already confirmed reports of building a new set for Jimmy Fallon at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, without identifying its purpose. Legendary 'Tonight Show' host Johnny Carson first moved the show to Burbank, California in 1972, looking for easier availability of Hollywood guests.

Reports of Fallon's take-over surface in the midst of Jay Leno's current difficulties with NBC president Bob Greenblatt, who reportedly took offense to Leno's string of jokes about the network's poor ratings performance. Nevertheless, Leno has continued to perform ahead of other late-night talk shows on average, despite Jimmy Kimmel's recent move to 11:35 P.M.
