Xcel Energy Delcares Energy Alert and Needs Your Help

We are expecting a scorcher today and even hotter temperatures tomorrow.  With the heat comes higher energy use because people are trying to cool down.  Xcel Energy needs your help.  They have officially declared and energy alert.

They are asking everyone in the Texas and New Mexico territory to limit your power usage during the day up until 7pm to reduce strain on the power grid.

You can do this by:

Turning off unneeded lights, computers and appliances.
Setting the thermostat to 78 degrees or higher at home.
Turning up the thermostat to 85 degrees before leaving home.
Using major appliances and equipment after 7 p.m., when power demand is lower.

So please help out if you can.
