Big Time Rush nabbed the Favorite Music Group Award at the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards tonight (March 31). The boy band is the subject of its own Nickelodeon show, so it certainly had a leg up on the stiff competition, since the boys are so exposed to the Nick voting audience because of the TV program.

Rap diva Nicki Minaj and actor Josh Hutcherson of ‘The Hunger Games’ were on hand to present the orange blimp to the winner of this prestigious award, but not before Minaj gave a major shout out to her Barbz, raising the already high energy level in the auditorium.

Big Time Rush bested country trio Lady Antebellum as well as Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO for the award, so big (time) congrats to the boys.

In their acceptance speech, BTR said, “This has been a dream of ours for a long time. We finally have a blimp.” They revealed that they are shooting a live music video for fans tonight and dedicated the award to Rushers — their pet name for their throng of dedicated fans — worldwide.

Congrats, Big Time Rush!
