Questions About Amarillo, Texas? City’s New AI Will Soon Help.
Artificial intelligence is everywhere, and that includes Amarillo, Texas. It's something that has become incredibly divisive in our country. Some people embrace AI and claim it is the greatest thing to have happened so far this century. Others point to a laundry list of problems and concerns. Either way, Amarillo will soon be introduced to Emma, our very own AI assistant.
Who Is Emma, Amarillo's AI Assistant?
According to reports, Emma is an "online digital assistant". Emma has also been referred to as a digital human. The continued push to blur the line between a "real human" and a "digital human" is an interesting thing we're having to deal with. From AI musicians to AI influencers it's getting harder to tell what is artificial intelligence and what isn't.
Supposedly, you'll be able to converse with Emma, who will answer your questions about the City of Amarillo and even put you in contact with real people who you get to hope can help you. The craziest part is that Emma will be fluent in 60 languages. Emma's development is a monumental task taken on by the City of Amarillo and Dell.
What Will Life In Amarillo Be Like With Emma The Digital Human AI Assistant?
It will be interesting to see what happens once Emma is rolled out. It would be nice to be able to ask Emma a question regarding the City, like when the restrooms at the park will reopen for the spring and summer, and then get a quick answer. Sometimes finding the information you need on the City websites is difficult.
Even more interesting will be how well the AI has been trained to deal with people trying to "break" it. You hear news stories constantly about people convincing AI to go rogue and give responses that it isn't supposed to. All we can do is wait and see how well Emma takes the stage later this year. Fingers crossed Emma does a great job.
