
An Active Shooter Reported at the Walmart at 1-27 and Georgia
Local law enforcement agencies responded to a call involving a possible shooting incident at the Walmart at 1-27 and Georgia. They are asking that the public avoid the area.

Amarillo Special Crime Unit has identified the suspect as Mohammad Moghaddam, 54-years old.

From the Amarillo Police Department:
The incident inside the Wal-Mart at 4215 Canyon Drive is still under investigation. The Special Crimes Unit will take over the investigation and will release more detail as available. The suspect's name has not been released.

From the Amarillo Police Department: Advisory: Suspect has been shot by APD SWAT and is apparently dead. Hostages inside are safe.

The Amarillo Police Department is reporting: At this time we have NO confirmed gunshot victims at Wal-Mart. Officers are inside. No shooting ongoing at this moment.

From the Randall County Sheriffs office: Southbound Georgia Street at I-27 is now being shut down to all traffic.
An active shooter has been reported and there is a possible hostage situation at the Walmart at 1-27 and Georgia.
