When I sat down to watch Saturday Night Live on Sunday afternoon (I'm an avid DVR'er) I was pleasantly surprised at what I watched.  No it wasn't all Gwyneth Paltrow, even though she did a good job hosting the show.  It was a surprise visit from on of my favorite childhood characters.

The screen fades to the ever popular SNL Digital Short, which is exciting in itself because you never know who or what Andy Samberg will bring to the table, and what followed was hilarity.

The surprise was guest Paul Reubens as his signature character Pee-Wee Herman. Pee-Wee and SNL's Andy Samberg go on a bender  that includes a mechanical bull ride, an altercation with CNN personality Anderson Cooper and an eventual intervention by friends.

Reubens recently revived Pee-Wee for a live show that played to sold-out crowds in LA and just ended a successful run on Broadway.
