My List of the Best Places in Amarillo to Go On National Beer Day

When it comes to grabbing a beer in Amarillo, we're not short on options. It seems like there is a bar & grill on every corner, and around that corner somewhere is a bar. Here are my quick picks for my favorite places to grab a brew in Amarillo.

Beef O'Brady's

I know there will be some head scratching done over this pick, but it's my favorite. I enjoy the OMG burger. The staff is usually really nice and accommodating.

Texas Firehouse Sports Bar & Grill

There are TVs all over the freaking place here. That's great news if you're hoping to catch a game and have a beer. The dining room and the bar area both look like the final resting place of the TV section of Circuit City. There's just so many. Plus, their Philly sandwiches are usually pretty good.

Their beer selection ranges from local craft to the big brands, so you can expect to get something that will satisfy the taste-buds.

Pondaseta Brewing Co.

When it comes to local brews, it's hard for me to argue against Pondaseta. I'm a big fan of their Becky blonde ale. No matter what your preference is, though, they'll have something for you to enjoy.

575 Pizza

If you're with other people, and they all have varied tastes when it comes to beer, this is a good choice. They have a wide selection of local craft beers to choose from, plus you can get the big brands. Not to mention, the pizza is usually pretty good.

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.
