Britney Spears’ Boyfriend and Sister Speak Out Amid Singer’s Mental Health Treatment
Britney Spears got some love and support from boyfriend Sam Asghari and younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears after checking herself into a mental health facility.
On Wednesday (April 3), it was reported that the "Baby One More Time" hitmaker was seeking treatment in an effort to cope with her father Jamie Spears' recent health scare. This news also comes after she announced she was taking an indefinite break from her Las Vegas residency in January to support him. According to TMZ, Britney checked herself into the facility about a week ago and will stay there for 30 days.
Following the news, the singer's boyfriend of three years took to Instagram to praise her and share an inspirational message. "It isn’t weakness, It’s a sign of absolute strength, people should only be inspired by this, at least I am," Sam wrote, adding a red heart emoji and the hashtag #stronger.
Meanwhile, her sister shared a sweet throwback photo of her and Britney when they were younger, writing, "Yup, she rode the bus home with me after my first day of school, cuz she’s the fn best" alongside the hashtag #WCW.
The pop star's boyfriend and family aren't the only ones showing her some love. Music icon Céline Dion also sent Britney her well wishes, telling Entertainment Tonight, "Right now she needs courage, so I’m sending her all my courage, and my inner strength, and my stability, and the love and respect I do have for other artists."
Her ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyer also released a statement on his behalf to The Blast, writing, “Kevin commends Britney for recognizing that she needs to take a step back and that she is taking the reasonable steps to deal with her situation in a responsible way." It's being reported that he's taking care of their two sons, Preston, 13, and Jayden, 12, while Britney focuses on her mental health.
