‘Game of Thrones’ Wins Outstanding Drama Series at the 2015 Emmys
The 2015 Emmy Awards have reached their biggest award of the night, and only one can win the statue. Game of Thrones has officially taken home the statue for Outstanding Drama Series, and very surprisingly so.
Game of Thrones certainly led the nominations this year, though few expected it to win out over AMC's Mad Men, which wrapped up earlier this year. No strangers to the stage tonight, showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff thanked the cast, crew, and particularly HBO, "for believing in dragons."
Tonight’s nominees included AMC’s Better Call Saul, ITV’s Downton Abbey, AMC’s Mad Men, Showtime’s Homeland, Netflix’s House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Last year, Breaking Bad took home the honor.
Well, did Game of Thrones deserve the win? Who got snubbed the most of all the nominees? Be sure to check out our master list of tonight’s winners, and stay tuned for more from the 2015 Emmy Awards!
