Shockingly, ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Rated R for ‘Strong, Erotic Sexual Content’
Holy cow! In a turn of events more shocking than what we’ve all experienced over the past 24 hours, Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, has gotten an R rating from the MPAA for “strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity, and language.” Boy, bet not even our inner goddesses saw that one coming.
In comparison, the first got an R rating for “strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language.” So I guess what this means is there won’t be any unusual behavior in this one. Nope, strictly casual, regular BDSM. Let’s not make it all complicated. (And also apparently there will be no dialogue in the sequel either. Only language.) But the MPAA certainly believes the sequel is way sexier than the first one, as evidenced by their addition of “erotic” into the rating. We’ll see about that.
Here’s the official synopsis:
When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.
