Gov. Abbott Signs law Raising The Legal Smoking Age To 21
Not only is smoking addicting, but it is also incredibly offensive to those who don’t smoke. I am not a smoker and I find myself staying away from establishments that still allow smoking inside.
According to the HuffPost, "Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed Senate Bill 21 into law on Friday, raising the legal age from 18. The new law, which will go into effect on Sept. 1, includes a ban on e-cigarette sales to those under 21."
I personally applaud Governor Abbott on this move which also includes the very popular E-Cigarettes that have exploded literally and figuratively over the last few years.
I understand smoking is something people enjoy, I’m not saying you should or should not smoke. Just be respectful of those around you.
Similar bans have been passed in Arkansas, California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington, according to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
