Season six ‘American Idol’ winner Jordin Sparks is taking her time when it comes to creating her new album, but maybe that has something to do with her aspirations to become an actress.

The singer is working at a slower pace than normal in releasing her next album. It has been awhile since we’ve heard from Sparks, whose first album, ‘Battlefield,’ came out in 2009. However, Sparks did release the single ‘I Am Woman’ which she performed it on ‘Idol’ last spring. She is definitely keeping her fans wanting more.

“I’m still working on it and I don’t really want to rush because I want it to be right,” Sparks told Billboard. “['I Am Woman'] was definitely something to give my fans different to chew on, something a little bit edgier with more attitude … I want the music that I put out — and especially after putting out ‘I Am Woman’ — to make sense and be cohesive.”

In addition to the 21-year-old singer mixing it up at the recording studio and revealing her new slim body and tattoo, she is even breaking into the acting biz. She has auditioned for film roles and even appeared on Nickelodeon’s ‘Big Time Rush,’ but she doesn’t want to stop there.

“I wouldn’t mind guest-starring on a law show or something. I love all the criminal shows, ‘CSI,’ ‘Law & Order’ and ‘House’ as well, all the medical shows,” she said. “Hopefully I’ll have some time to go to an acting coach and really try and perfect that.”
