Long John Silver’s Return to Amarillo Breaks Records

It's been one of the biggest frenzies we've seen in Amarillo's history. Lines extending for nearly a mile, waits of up to four hours or more, and that's just to place your order.

Of course, I'm talking about the reintroduction of Long John Silver's to the city. We as a collective whole have completely lost our minds trying to get our hands on that crispy fish, delectable chicken strips, and oh yeah...the crumblies.

The Saga Of Long John Silver's

It had been six long years since we had a franchise in the city, and it seems we've been craving it ever since. Once it was announced that it was making its triumphant return to Amarillo, we began getting in line in our minds.

After a few construction delays and issues, an opening date of August 1 was dropped out there for us, and 12 days later, the line for the drive-thru is STILL there.

Amarillo Breaks LJS Sales Records

Not only has it been mass chaos, but it's been record-setting for the restaurant. Amarillo stepped up to the plate by setting several records for the franchise. Our new crown jewels set a record for first-day sales of any Long John Silver's in the history of the restaurant.

Not only that, but the sales on day two were even stronger than on the first day. After a week? Another record was set as the Amarillo location set the record for most sales in its first week of operation. The restaurant chain has never seen something like what Amarillo was able to deliver.

Will We Get Another Location In Amarillo

After the success of the location, there have been rumors floating around that they're already scouring the city for a second location. Now, there's nothing confirmed on that, but you can see why the rumors got started.

We wouldn't be surprised if a second location opened in the near future, especially if those lines don't die down. Things should get interesting with school getting ready to kick back off. With the way it's going now, students may not even have enough time to wait for their food unless they're willing to be late for class...which they probably don't mind.
