Amarillo’s Hoodoo Mural Festival Set for Arts in the Sunset September 26
One of the cooler events to come to Amarillo happens in the fall. It's an event that began in 2019, and since then Amarillo has been brighter and more artful.
When Is the Hoodoo Mural Festival
It's the Hoodoo Mural Festival. Every year, new murals go up in downtown Amarillo, curated by amazing and talented artists. Then they celebrate art and music with a huge festival. This year will be on Saturday, September 26 at Arts in the Sunset.
This Year's Hoodoo Mural Featured Artists
She is a muralist and painter based in Toronto. Her art is a mix of classical realism and contemporary. She began painting large-scale murals in 2015. Now you'll get to enjoy a piece of her art in Amarillo.
Hagan is Los Angeles-born and now lives in Arizona. Her approach to artwork involves lots of color and imagination. Glyphs, shapes, and symbols soon take shape and become vibrant pieces of magic.
Charney lives and creates in her hometown of Denver, Colorado. Her murals use dot patterning and create illusions for those viewing the paintings or murals. She describes her work as "digital taffy."
Stanley is based in Orlando, Florida. He uses the dash and dot style in his artwork. His work brings depth and lots of vibrant colors.
Spaulding is based in Amarillo, and he and his wife Sara own Blind Bird Designs. They create pieces of art out of glass, ceramic and sculpture.
Ornelas is a local artist in Amarillo. She is a tattoo artist at Rise Up Tattoo, but also creates murals and paintings.
Fletcher is an artist based in Amarillo who works with painting, drawing, design and murals. She is also the founder of Blank Space Murals, an organization that offers internships to high school and college students who bring art to the Amarillo community.
Who's Playing at Hoodoo Mural Festival 2026
The festival will include live entertainment from Neon Indian, The Motet, West Texas Exiles, Fayuca, and Stealing Handshakes.
Hoodoo Mural Festival Tickets and Admission Prices
The Hoodoo Mural Festival is Saturday, September 26, at Arts in the Sunset, 3701 Plains Blvd. Admission is $25 for general admission and $125 for VIP admission. Tickets can be purchased here. All ages are welcome at the festival. Ten and under get in free with a paid adult.
