Michael Buble Holds Down No. 1 on Billboard Album Chart for Second Week
When it comes to popular music, Michael Buble is Mr. Christmas for 2011. The crooner claims the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart for the second consecutive week with 293,000 copies sold of his ‘Christmas’ album, which shows no signs of slowing down.
That’s more than double the sales of the No. 2 album, Adele‘s ’21,’ which shoots back up from No. 7. Justin Bieber‘s own holiday record ‘Under the Mistletoe’ takes No. 3, while Drake‘s ‘Take Care’ hangs on at No. 4. Only two new entries appear in the Top 50. Trey Songz arrives at No. 23 with ‘Inevitable,’ while Hot Chelle Rae come in at No. 48 with ‘Whatever.’
‘Christmas’ has now surpassed the 1 million mark in total sales, making it just the seventh album in 2011 to reach that milestone. Adele’s ’21′ is still the runaway leader for the year, at 4.8 million.
Based on early sales projections, Billboard is already guaranteeing that Buble will hold down No. 1 again next week. Amy Winehouse and the Black Keys are in the running for Top 10 debuts, with projections of more than 100,000 for each.
