Mix 94.1 In Amarillo Transforms Into The Ultimate Christmas Station!

The holiday season is officially here! Mix 94.1 is now Amarillo's Christmas Station playing holiday classics around the clock, seven days a week. This year, as we do every year, we had a big event to celebrate the start of the most wonderful time of the year. Here's what you missed at this year's event.

Cactus Cove Inn & Suites Hosts Mix 94.1 Christmas Kick-Off

If you haven't been by Cactus Cove in Amarillo yet, you should check it out the next time they have a big event. We were situated near the fountain in the atrium. There's plenty of seating near the kitchen area, and there's a second gathering area on the second floor just above. It was a great spot to host all of our vendors at this year's event. There were a lot of great gift ideas at our kick-off.

On the other side is a nice pool area that was awfully busy for a November morning when we were there. I made a stop at the Western Horseman after the event to see for myself how it looked after the much-talked-about renovations. It's a nice space with an ample dance floor, plenty of seating, and a really nice stage. It feels almost like an old saloon. It just has some upscale touches. I enjoyed the hour I spent there.

Santa Came To The Cactus Cove To Flip The Switch

If you missed the event, you missed out on what is my favorite part. Santa showed up early and spent time hanging out with our radio crew, the vendors, and anyone who happened to be walking by. Santa was constantly on the move spreading holiday cheer.

When it came time to flip the switch and start our Christmas music season, Santa joined Melissa and me on the microphone and counted down with us. At 10 AM sharp, he gave us a big "Merry Christmas", and the season was officially underway. The Jolly Old Elf was one of the highlights of the day for me.
