New Study Shows Amarillo is a Good Place to Raise a Family

We all want to live in a place where we can raise a family.  Some of us grew up in Amarillo and have stayed and made this place a home for our children.  Others have left and returned to raise their family.  Some have relocated to Amarillo because it is a good place to raise a family.

According to a new study conducted by WalletHub, Amarillo is a great place to raise a family.

WalletHub studied 180 different cities across the U.S., and compared those different cities based on 46 different key metrics that are essential to a family.  Those metrics included, the cost of housing, the quality of local school and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation.

Amarillo was ranked at #60 overall.  Here is where they ranked in the different categories:

Family Fun - #82
Health and Safety - #127
Education and Child Care - #142
Affordability - #44
Socio-Economic - #39

The best place to raise a family acccording to the study, Overland Park, KS.  The worst, Newark, NJ.

Lubbock ranked #128 in the study.
