Thirteen Children Transported to the Hospital After a Wreck Involving a AISD School Bus at Coulter and Tascosa Road

Earlier this afternoon a bus transporting children from De Zavala Middle School was involved in a accident.

The wreck occurred on the corner of  of Tascosa Road and N. Coulter. The Amarillo Police officers found that the bus had been going South and was turning from Coulter onto Tascosa Road.

A maroon Pontiac Grand Am was traveling West on Tascosa Road when it hit the bus on the left front drivers side.  The bus carried 41 children from de Zavala Middle School and the bus driver.  Thirteen children were taken to the hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

No citations were given at the time of the wreck and police are still investigating.
