Tom Cruise has resolved his problems with the magazines Life & Style and In Touch, who he was suing for $50 million after they claimed within their pages that he abandoned his daughter, Suri, after his divorce from Katie Holmes.

No settlement information was revealed, but the case was dismissed in court today (Dec. 20) and prosecutors and defendants have agreed to pay their own legal fees.

A statement released jointly by both sides revealed, "Bauer Publishing, as well as In Touch and Life & Style magazines, never intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter, Suri, and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published."

Still, despite the easy resolution, it was a messy process to get here. On his end alone, Cruise's lawyers tried to prove that Bauer Publishing had ties to the Nazi party and were out to destroy his career.

Bauer was just as terrible in this whole thing, looking into the psychological stability of Suri, delving into whether or not Scientology affected their lives and even grilling Cruise on how much time he and his daughter spent together.

This deposition, of course, just opened up a whole new can of worms when it leaked that Cruise likened acting to serving in Afghanistan. Yikes.
