Is ‘Zoey 101′ Getting a Reboot?
Jamie Lynn Spears is reportedly in talks to reprise her role in a Zoey 101 reboot.
According to TMZ, Nickelodeon is looking to bring back the series more than 11 years after it aired its last episode. Source told the outlet Birtney Spears' younger sister has been approached, however, nothing is official as of right now. If she agrees, she'd obviously play her iconic character Zoey Brooks, but with "some major changes."
If the reboot gets the green light, the series would follow Zoey's life 10 years after we last saw her on screen, which means she'd be 28 years old—just like Spears IRL. TMZ reports her character would probably have children, but no other details have been discussed, such as whether or not she'll have a partner.
It's also unclear if any other Zoey 101 stars have been asked to join the reboot, but here's to hoping they all come back. Either way, fans are over the moon about the news:
Zoey 101 ended in 2008 right after Spears revealed she was pregnant with her first child. For a long time, fans believed this was the reason why the beloved show was canceled, however, Spears later confirmed her pregnancy had nothing to do with it. The timing was just a mere coincidence and that she "went home to finish high school and was going to pursue movies" before she even found out she was pregnant.
