Really?  When did that happen?  If that is the case I'll take 5 servings please so I can have my daily required servings of veggies.  Seriously, when did pizza become a vegetable?  According to a bill going before Congress, the tomato paste would be considered a serving of vegetables (which apparently has been so for years).

The Obama administration is fighting to have schools serve healthier lunches to students which I'm guessing doesn't include pizza.

According to MSNBC:

The final version of a spending bill released late Monday would unravel school lunch standards the Agriculture Department proposed earlier this year, which included limiting the use of potatoes on the lunch line and delaying limits on sodium and delaying a requirement to boost whole grains.

Nutrition advocate Margo Wootan of the Center for Science in the Public Interest said Congress's proposed changes will keep schools from serving a wider array of vegetables. "They are making sure that two of the biggest problems in the school lunch program, pizza and french fries, are untouched," she said.

School lunches are school lunches, kids get lunch menus each week on what the cafeteria will be serving, so if parents don't want their children eating pizza then send a sack lunch with them.

It is easy as that.

I still like the idea that pizza is a vegetable, I like pizza.  But not everyday of the week.
